A person pretending to be Justin Bieber online has asked a 10-year-old girl to pose on a webcam, prompting police to warn parents about internet predators.
The girl sent a friend request on a video chat program to someone displaying the pop singer's photograph and birth date on January 9, police said.
Police said the Bieber impersonator then asked the girl to model "revealing clothing" during a video conversation.
The girl told her mother, who called the police.
Commander of the State Crime Command's Sex Crimes Squad, Detective Superintendent John Kerlatec said: "This incident serves as an important reminder that online predators will stop at nothing to groom children.
"We advise parents to educate their children about these dangers, and to warn them to be wary of anyone who claims to be famous.
Meantime, a 19-year-old British girl lived has a double life, dressing up as a boy to dupe her friends into dating her.
Gemma Barker, from Middlesex, wore boy's clothes and gave herself three false identities so she could have sexual encounters with her 15- and 16-year-old friends, the Daily Mail reported.
Prosecutor Ruby Selva told Guildford Crown Court Barker set up Facebook profiles for her different personas and had individual dress styles for them.
Barker's deception was discovered by police when she was arrested as her alter ego Lampard on suspicion of sexual assault as she had to remove her clothes.
Selva said Barker's disguise was so convincing that when one of her victims removed a sleeping "McCormack's" hat, she was shocked to discover it was her best friends boyfriend "Lampard" she had been kissing.
She now faces jail after admitting two counts of sexual assault and one of fraud.
